Closet Re-Style: Rhinestoned Ankles

The peek a boo dangeling rhinestones
are a sexy and simple way to re-style
the bottom of jeans. A great look
for a night out.
#trimsbytheyard #rhinestones #closetrestyle #fashionrestyle #skinnyjeans
Supplies:
Jeans
Sharp cutting tool
Fabric Glue
Depending on how long you want your rhinestones to be:
1 Roll: 20953-401 Rhinestone with Silver metallic
1 Roll: 20950-204 Clear with Black
1: Take a pair of jeans and measure off where you would like to
cut hem off. We recommend a little above ankle.
2: Cut into jeans and tear off the bottom part. It’s okay if they are a
little uneven, you can even out with scissors.
3: Fold leg so there is a center fold and cut a wedge about 3”
up from center, from sides.
4: To get a good fray going, brush cut bottoms with hands,
then wash and dry jeans.

5: Turn jeans inside out.Lay the jeans flat and start to measure
out the lengths of rhinestones
6: Glue the rhinestones on jeweled side
7: Place face down in desired place
8: Once all glued in place, place weighted object on top to hod in place and dry.
NOTE: Where the rhinestones are glued on back may get caught on stockings/socks. If you are concerned about this, you can cover by using some iron on fusible pellon or iron on patches to cover the rhinestones on inside.

Mardi Gras Home Decor

Bring the party from Bourbon Street to your home. These DIY applications of trims to everyday table decor are simple and festive.

Take everyday table top decor and create custom holiday looks. Everyday vinyl placemats with Mardi Gras colored sequins and Glass candle holders with metallic trims create an authentic Mardi Gras ambiance.

Placemats Supplies:
Vinyl Placemats
1/4” Wide Double Stick Tape-
Sequins- 14102-0AF

1: We used a gold vinyl pacemat, it’s a verastile color
for everyday or special occasions. We also love that there
is a pattern line, which makes it easy to follow when
appling sequins.
2: Take 1/4” double stitck tape and peel away film from
one side as you place and press along line on placemat.
Leave about 1/2” on each end to fold over to back

3: Take sequins and as you peel away top film from
tape, place sequins and press down as you go.

4: Fold over ends to back.

5: Continue same process on other sides.

6: Lay some heavy books on top to make sure the sequins
stay flat and stick.

When celebrations are over, pull back sequins and tape.
To remove excess residue, take some lemon oil on a
paper towel and rub away. The placements are now ready
for next celebration.

Suede like Fabric – ½* yard

Foam Interfacing/Stabilizer – 8 inches by 14 inches

Large Snap Fastener

Thread

Basic Sewing, Measuring, Cutting, Pressing tools and supplies

DIY Wedding Clutch with Lace Bow How To:

Cut one 8 inch by 14 inch rectangle from the foam interfacing/stabilizer.

Place lace edging across the right side of the clutch fabric, situating it 1 ½ inches up from the front edge. Top stitch along either side of the lace edging. Diagram A

With right sides together, pin the front and back of the clutch together and stitch around the outside edge using a ½ inch wide seam and leaving a 4 inch opening along one side.  Clip the corners. Diagram B

Turn right side out and insert the foam interfacing/stabilizer. Turn in the opening along the side and hand stitch closed.

Fold the bottom edge of the clutch up towards the top forming a 3 ½ inch deep pocket. Pin. Topstitch around the outside edge of the clutch, stitching ¼ inch away from the outside edges. Sew snap to the clutch. Diagram C

Cut a 18” length of lace edging and fold in half, overlapping the two ends. Using a needle and thread stitch the end together and then wrap the thread around the center forming a bow. Stitch back into the center to secure the thread wraps. Diagram D

Cut a 1 inch by 2 ½ inch rectangle from the main fabric. Fold the edges in towards the center and then wrap around the center of the bow, overlapping the ends and stitching to secure.

How To Make a Beyonce Inspired Party Dress

how to sew a dress

The Holiday season is around the corner and anything festive is synonymous with dresses in my opinion. When I spotted the Nicole Miller dress worn by Beyonce I loved how it can be worn both in a chic way and be dressed down at the same time or be worn at work.

Although it’s a simple grey dress what makes it pop are the trimmings added to the finishing look. And the fact that is was worn by Beyonce otherwise nobody would be talking about it lol

Enjoy this DIY dress tutorial!

What you’ll need:
– 1 yards/meter of wool crochet fabric (shop it here or at Metro Textiles NYC)

I used Rhinestone Embellished trimmings, Jumbo Ric Rac Orange, 1/2 Shell Knit trim)
– Zippers (shop it here)
