Baby Boutique Cards – Design by Lorine Mason

Creating one of kind cards is pretty simple. Using a die cut of a baby onesie simply add leftover bits of trim. You can create the Baby Boutique cards to coordinate with the theme and color.

Supplies for Baby Boutique Cards:

  • Die Cut Onesie Card Blank – (two die cuts per card)
  • Decorative TrimmingsRick Rack & Lace
  • Double Stick Tape – 1/8 & 1/4 inch wide
  • Glue
  • Button
  • Scissors
  • Needle & Thread
  • Velcro® Sticky Back Dot

How To make Baby Boutique Cards:

Apply double stick tape to the card front, wrapping it around to the inside edge of the card using the project as a guide to placement. Remove the backing from the tape and apply trim.

If your chosen trim is too narrow to use double stick tape, use small dots of glue applied directly to the back of the trims. Glue only a few inches at a time. Be sure to wrap the trim around to the inside edge of the card for finished look.

To create the ruffled skirt. Turn under the side edge and sew a running stitch along the top edge of a 10 inch section of lace. Repeat turning under the opposite raw edge of the lace. Pull the thread to gather the lace until it fits the width of the card. Stitch into the lace to secure threads. Trim threads. Add skirt to card front using glue or double stick tape.

Cut the second die cut in half along the shoulder seams. Set aside the back half of the onesie cutout and apply double stick tape to the back of the front section. Remove the paper backing from the tape and apply it to the inside front of the card, covering all of the raw edges of the trims applied earlier.

Glue button to card front, if desired.

Cut the Velcro® dot in half and apply the hook side the tab on the back of the card and the loop side to the front. Note: You will be using only one half of the Velcro® dot for each card.
